Located in the East Midtown neighborhood of Turtle Bay between Lexington and 3rd Avenue, plans for 131 East 47th call for a residential building approximately 50 stories high, with more than 150,000 square feet of space.
There will be 138 condominium units in the building, each averaging more than 1,200 square feet. The building will stand between 600 and 700 feet tall, similar to other residential buildings in the area.
The building will be developed by New Empire Real Estate and designed by SLCE Architects. Though the space was initially planned to be a mixed-use building, it was redesigned to be completely residential. Current design plans indicate a high-ceiling lobby and 50 parking spaces.
There are several new developments in the area, all standing at about 50 stories tall. The building is 0.3 miles to the 4-5-6 train line and just three blocks to shopping on Madison Avenue.
